Meet the Dentists

Amar Pattani, DDS

Dr. Amar Pattani combines a passion for design, structure, and aesthetics with a genuine commitment to high-quality patient care. With a background in electrical engineering from Northwestern University (Class of 1998), he later earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery from Marquette University. This path allowed him to merge his love of engineering with a desire to help people feel more confident in their smiles.

A caring and compassionate dentist, Dr. Pattani genuinely enjoys working with patients to create treatment plans tailored to their individual needs. He has advanced training and experience in multiple areas, including cosmetic and aesthetic fillings, implant placement, and restorations, endodontics, and orthodontics (including both braces and clear aligners). He is also a certified injector of Botox, Xeomin, and fillers.

Originally from Jacksonville, Florida, and raised in the northwest suburbs of Chicago, Dr. Pattani now calls Illinois home. Outside of dentistry, he enjoys woodworking, carpentry, electronics, circuits, and programming. He’s a true DIY enthusiast who loves fixing things. When it’s time to relax, you’ll likely find him playing volleyball or watching football.

Van Nguyen, DMD

Dr. Van Nguyen is a compassionate dentist dedicated to delivering high-quality oral health care. She earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from Midwestern University College of Dental Medicine in Downers Grove, Illinois.

Dr. Nguyen is known for her gentle touch and personalized approach, helping patients feel comfortable and confident during their visits. She believes in evidence-based dentistry and stays current with the latest advancements and technology in the field.

Her training includes general dentistry and braces, and she has completed continuing education in basic straight wire orthodontics. Dr. Nguyen joined the practice in 2024.

Outside of work, Dr. Nguyen enjoys traveling, wandering through Costco aisles, and spending quality time with her family and her dog, Eggroll.

Meet the Team

Ally

Office Manager
Ally joined Zion Family Dentistry & Implant Center in 2024, bringing with her more than six years of management experience across various fields, including dentistry. As our office manager, she works hard to ensure every patient’s visit runs smoothly. That includes excellent scheduling to ensure we have space for patients who need urgent care. She’s known for her calm demeanor, even when difficult situations arise.

Outside the office, Ally enjoys spending time with her daughter, as well as their puppy and cat. Family movie nights are a favorite—especially anything DC, Marvel, Disney, or anime. Ally is also a talented percussionist and pianist with over a decade of experience, and she loves immersing herself in the world of Dungeons & Dragons.

Maria

Scheduling Coordinator
Maria has been a valued member of the Zion Family Dentistry & Implant Center team since 2023. As our scheduling coordinator, she plays a key role in welcoming patients at the front desk and keeping the schedule running smoothly. Bilingual in English and Spanish, Maria takes pride in supporting our diverse community. She helps patients feel at ease by assisting with appointments, answering insurance questions, and clearly explaining treatment plans.

Outside the office, Maria loves exercising. She also has a loving partner and four children, whom she enjoys spending time with.

Jessica

Registered Dental Hygienist
Jessica graduated from College of Lake County with an associate degree in applied science in 2016. She joined the team in 2018. Jessica takes great pride in building strong relationships with her patients. She is dedicated to ensuring her patients feel comfortable and cared for during their dental cleanings. Jessica is certified in local anesthesia and nitrous oxide, and she has completed additional education in the use of the diode laser.

When not busy working, Jessica enjoys hiking with her husband and daughter. She loves to explore new travel destinations and spend quality time with friends and family. Jessica is also a fan of snowboarding and gardening.

Iris

Registered Dental Hygienist
Iris is a dedicated and compassionate hygienist who graduated in May 2024. She has also completed certifications in local anesthesia and nitrous oxide. Iris is passionate about promoting oral health and providing high-quality, patient-centered care. She enjoys educating patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and helping them to achieve and maintain excellent oral health.

In her spare time, Iris enjoys going to the gym and spending time with her friends and family. She says it helps her to stay balanced and energized in her professional life.

Alyssa

Lead Dental Assistant
Alyssa is a friendly, familiar face patients love to see at Zion Family Dentistry & Implant Center, and she’s been here since 2022. As our lead dental assistant, she brings not only skill and precision to every appointment but also a dose of warmth and humor that makes the dental chair a little less scary (and a lot more fun). Whether she's assisting in treatments or mentoring new team members, Alyssa is always keeping spirits high with her signature laugh. Known as "the outgoing one” on the team, she has a knack for making everyone feel at ease, whether they are a first-time visitor or a longtime patient. Alyssa is all about creating a positive, people-first experience.

When she's not in the office, Alyssa is likely to be found at a local concert, car show, or race. She loves traveling and trying new things. She’s also totally obsessed with her pup, Taz, and enjoys a perfect iced coffee.

Brooke

Dental Assistant
Brooke joined the practice in 2025. She really enjoys helping patients feel comfortable during their visits and loves the teamwork aspect of our office. She says it’s a rewarding feeling to make the office enjoyable for both patients and team members.

Outside of work, Brooke loves hanging out with friends and family. She is also studying to become a dental hygienist and is very excited to keep growing in this field.
